I'm no photochopping expert but the shading between the neck and face look different. But they also appear different shades in the original photo of JuJu (I think it's the lighting and his complexion).

I see that now. It does kind of throw it off.
 
Work on the authenticity of the pic, the scratches look to be above the picture and not in the picture itself. Hopefully that will bring some of the focus down to where we want it.
 
The density of his hair also exceeds that of the rest of the image - it's darker than it should be.
 
also you need to bring up the base level of blacks to give it more of a gray in the pic you imported. Also the line along the hat is very sharp try smoothing it out a bit.
 
Thanks for the advice. I'll play with the shades and scratches a bit more. His hair is jet black, so I don't really know what to do about that.
 
The contrast of the sailor photo is pretty dull, so I would make the hair less dark to even out the contrast of the chopped photo. Otherwise, everything else looks alright to me.
