I was at a customer service counter at my local 24/7, Walmart type of store to mail something off. This one guy that was talking to the guest services employee was trying to return two 12-packs of Pepsi. He said that he just bought it but decided he didn't want it. She told him that all she can do is give him store credit because he couldn't offer her a reciept as proof of purchase. He didn't like that and continued to ask for the money. After about a minute, he decided he didn't want store credit and walked out of the store. As soon as he walked out, about 3 guys in plain cloths were all over him. They were the store's security. I found out from the employee that he simply picked up the pepsi packs in the store and went straight to the guest services counter to try to get a cash refund without a reciept. I can't believe this Idiot tried to scam them for the price of 2 packs of Pepsi! Now his @ss is going to jail, where they don't serve pepsi. :)

if he got the store credit, how could he get busted? he didn't leave the store with anything stolen...he merely took something and gave it to a clerk and the clerk gave him something in return.

same thing happened at the radio shack i used to work at. kid came in when we were busy , picked up some stuff, and got store credit for it (with no receipt)...we were suspicious, though..we looked over our security tapes, saw him in action, called the cops, and they picked him up at some other store in our mini-mall.... :)

if you think about it, it's pretty easy to pull something like this off!

I think it's because the employee didn't know security was watching him. She found out when security asked her to do a scan to see the cost. I guess they needed to cost for court or something.

I've seen it happen as an employee. If it's busy, you don't know for sure, and you can't go around accusing people of stuff like that. Argh....customers...
