It's theoretically possible for a state to have such a low population that they have more senators than they do congressmen.

In fact, SEVEN fall into that category:

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, North & South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming

Talk about being all alone.

:D

p.s. the representatives from those states are referred to as "at large"

I think South Dakota and North Dakota have 700,000 and 600,000 people respectively.

Can't remember Wyoming off the top of my head.

I don't even think that half of those are real states. Some sort of conspiracy by Rand McNally... Have you met anyone from Delaware?

No, not better at all!

For some reason, I also thought that each state had two members of the House of Representatives, and only realized recently that is not the case.

Viedit: so basically, more people were at the last 3 NASCAR Winston Cup races (combined) than in either of the Dakotas?

Come to think of it, no, I haven't met anyone from Delaware...

But I have met people from Alaska, Montana, and North Dakota. And I've personally been to Wyoming.

According to the 2002 census, Wyoming has 498,703. They might've broken half a million by now :)

Edit:
District of Columbia has 570,898
