I left my D70 powered on accidentally from 8pm last night until just about 2 minutes ago.

I still have a full battery :)

After nearly 1,800 pictures over nearly 3 months, i've only charged my battery twice (once when i got it, once when i got back from costa rica the beginning of april)

:D

Yep, I drug mine out over the weekend, and was planning on recharging the battery, no need:D

Now if that guy hasn't sold his Nikkor lens:D

I was amazed at the battery life on my 300D. I must have shot 300 pics and charged it only because I was going to a birthday party and wanted to have a full charge there. I took it to NC last weekend and didn't even bother bringing the charger on a 4 day trip-I just charged it prior to leaving. I shot almost 100 pictures and it still shows fully charged.

Edit-The worst part is trying to remember where you put the damned charger when you actually do need it! ;)

I am amazed at the battery life on my Fuji FinePix 4900z. I charged the battery before I went to my wife's school, took three pictures of the kids, and the battery was dead. Woot!

I went three months (December 25th-March 25th) without recharging the battery on my 300D. Left the charger at my parents place and I was too cheap to buy a replacement.

Took over 300 shots in that time frame and never completely killed the battery.

what lens you looking for

70-300 f4-5.6 ED AF Nikkor, used ~$200

If you have something laying around you want to give away though...

Yup, I've used my D70 for over a month. The battery level JUST dropped to 3/4 full after close to 700 shots :p

Back in the day, we didn't have none of them batteries. Everything was done by hand, while walking in 9' deep snow, uphill, thrice daily!

Yup. My 20D just goes into sleep mode. If I half press the button it turns on immediately.

I love the ability to take 1800 pictures on one charge.

Sure, but you do realize that a lot of the long battery life is due to not using the LCD for taking pictures?
