Any help appreciated. I have not seen this on my system before. Maybe myself or another family member inadvertantly changed a setting?
Curios. What is:" security: property package.definition new value com.sun.javaws,com.sun.deploy,com.sun.jnlp,org.mozilla.jss
basic: Added progress listener: sun.plugin.util.GrayBoxPainter$GrayBoxProgressListener@11c8a71

Thanks for any info.

I'll see if I can find something out, but that certainly sounds suspicious.

1) do you have antivirus protection

2) what site caused this, if you care to say (PM me if you prefer). If you post the site, break the URL so it can't be clicked by the unwary.

Ok, it looks innocent. It appears they make a Java-driven chat box that lets you chat with a customer-service rep at commercial websites if you have questions.

Thanks for the info, mechBgon.
Yes, I use AVG Free 8.0 . It may not be the first choice for some, but I'm pretty happy, no problems,...yet. I keep it updated, sometimes a few a day.

As for the site, I checked my history and I must have clicked on a site that had a link to it, or it may have been "embeded in it"--- http: //www. bitsnstuff.co.uk/acatalog/ Bitsnstuff_ Competition.html .

When that link opened so did the "java box".
when I did a little search to see what/ where some of the info was and came from, I did not get far. I found "http: //js.livehelper.com/clientjs/ 1096831 /includes/ track .js ". That opened up a file download with a security warning. I don't venture into the unknown if I am given a choice. But, software wise, Im not too savy.
Thank you very much for the link info. I don't need anything from that direction.
I try to steer clear of any java, active x , or other script I don't easily recognize.
I leave the windows firewall on, if that does any good. Back in the day, I used to use "Black-ICE-Defender", and an and some sort of Norton. "Shields-up!" used to tell me I was pretty safe.
However, I've gotten a little fat, and lazy. I'm headed over to the networking forums to find out info on setting up a wireless router, or keep using the existing router(s) I have.
I thought I read that a router also adds a little more security by using an additional firewall.
In any case I really appreciate your help. Hope you have a great Holiday/ New Years!
