A friend contacted me with a problem that he believes is related to his computer but I'm baffled. Something in his house has called 911 3 times in the last 2 days and he thinks it is related to his computer.

Computer is hooked up via dsl with no router or 56k modem. What else could call 911 in a house?

Cordless phone. We had one that called 911 repeatedly when the battery was dying.

Sensing that my cordless phone was gaining sentience, I removed the batteries and discarded it. God help us all if it had managed to link to the Roomba & was able to drive itself to its recharger.
 
replace the motherfucking phones or process of elimination through them, geez your friend is a dimwit
