Someone's stealing my packages

lozina

Lifer
So last Friday I ordered some stuff from Amazon. Expected delivery was on two days - 2 of the items on Tue Nov 13 other 2 on Wed Nov 14.

I have the text messaging alert subscribed so I get the notification yesterday that 2 are delivered. Well that's odd, when I get home no packages at my door. Usually that text comes 30 minutes to an hour after the packages are there. But nothing until nighttime still no sign of them so I call UPS to say WTF? They referred me to Amazon. They said I have to wait 2 days. ok fine.

Next day Wed I expect 2 more packages, and I get the texts that they are delivered. When I get home to check, again nothing. My mom was home all day and she heard or saw nothing. I live in a quiet suburban area.

So either they got some retard driver who keeps putting my packages on someone else's door - who is a dirty rotten wise and beautiful woman and is stealing them - or the driver himself is stealing them.

Really frustrated with this.

Amazon is willing to refund me which is great but I am really annoyed by the thought of someone stealing my packages and am expecting future packages to end up in the same fate.

Wow sucks, i get a lot of stuff weekly from Amazon, in all price ranges. Thankfully i have never had a issue with someone grabbing it.

time to get a webcam for the porch, use amz locker, or force amz to get you to sign for packages.

I once had UPS deliver a package to the wrong place. From Amazon as well but they called the driver. Didnt tell me to call Amazon.

Nobody signed for it? Or, did you have a agreement with FedEx/UPS that they can leave the packages without being signed for?

I cannot remember the last time UPS made me sign and I have no such agreement - they once put $1k worth of cell phones underneath my doormat.

FedEx does not require sign either - it is an optional $$$ add-on from the sender side.

Webcam on the porch.

Also, order a few awkward packages. Maybe some big dildos, a couple big tubs of KY, etc. Send it as a gift with note that says something to the effect of, "Enjoy the package fuckers". Get creative. 😉

The only things that need to be signed for are items which are specifically required by the shipper to be signed. Everything else they just leave at the door.

Amazon lockers are a neat idea but the closest ones to me are in Manhattan. No way Im driving downtown to pick up packages. Id prefer if they require signatures for a while until they sort out this mess.

I just realized that I also had a shipment of my regular Amazon subscribe and save items also were supposed to be shipped today! Goddamnit thats $200 of stuff I need thats missing too. 😡😡😡

Hah, like this thing? http://www.amazon.com/Passion-Natura...55+gallon+lube

Then I can drive around the neighborhood after I get the delivered text alert looking for some scumbag trying to wrestle this drum into his living room.

I had UPS "deliver" a $1700 Dell XPS M170 (late 2005) in front of my door without even knocking/ringing the door bell. Luckily it was still there when I arrived an hour later. Good thing my door is about 100 feet from the street. FedEx is worse, they leave a sticker "missed delivery" in your door without knocking/ringing door bell. Had to drive 15 miles once to get a $750 24" Dell monitor since I couldn't wait to use it. 🙁

Look like I'll have to install a webcam in the front door and record what's happening when a package delivery is due. Majority of my delivery are always left in the front door (rain or shine).

I am sorry this is happening to you but it's really surprising to me. I know package theft is easy but I actually don't think it's really that common.

If it happens enough times, Amazon will/should automatically put signature confirmation on the packages.

UPS has been "stealth" delivering shit lately for me too. No knock, no dingdong. Just drop and dash.

I get stuff delivered to me at work because I'm sick of having stuff left out or needing to drive half an hour to FedEx clutching a "sorry we missed you..." note in my impotent fist.

Sometimes UPS will deliver my package that requires a signature and basically enter "FRONT DOOR" as the name of the recipient.

It depends on where you live. I lived in an apartment close to the city and my mail was getting stolen from in front of my place for months. Then when I took the family to Disney World our apartment was robbed. Nice, huh?

Surprised more people don't have security camera's. They are pretty cheap.

Also helps confirm that UPS actually did deliver when they said they did.

If you suspect stolen, get a large box, put some bricks in it, along with some sort of device that you can track (gps enabled phone?) and have it delivered to you. Put some sort of enticing label on the box.

I've gotten packages delivered to my house for someone else before. My street is N.E. 3rd and the delivery address was same house # but for N.W 3rd st., which is 5 or 6 blocks west of me. I just called the # on the label and informed the person who's package it was where they can find it.

Ya UPS never knocks anymore, i heard my dog bark, is the only way i know they were there.

About 5 years ago i had a laptop shipped to my job, waited all day for it to come, our office was on the third floor, around 3 pm finally went and looked out over the lobby and seen a box sitting next to the front door. Sure enough it was my $1800 asus laptop, i was pretty shocked and mad. There were probably about 200 people that worked in the building.

Did you put c/o "your company name" and maybe together with the flr no. on the shipping address? If not UPS/Fedex might not leave it at your office.

Yep had the office name, suite number on it.

Literally left it sitting next to the board that has all the company's names and floor sign.
