I just heard the most embarassing/funny/bad thing on the radio...

The morning show DJs (KC and Ron at Rock 98.3 in Bend, Oregon: Link) were put up by a lady's husband (on her birthday) to call her up, pretend to be someone from the husband's work, and basically told her that they caught her husband having sex with the secretary, and he was fired, would be home soon, and would need her support. She goes off on this tirade, screaming, yelling, calling him all these names (most of it bleeped out, as she was pretty peeved), and then she says "Now I don't feel so bad for f**king his brother."

The DJs are like "oh s**t". They immediatly say "KC and Ron mornings at Rock 98.3, your husband put us up to this (blah, blah)" or something along those lines, basically trying to calm the situation (which was supposed to be a FUNNY situation, but turned bad quick).

They sit for a second, waiting for her response, then hear a dial tone on the other end. Then they went to a commercial, and didn't mention it the rest of the morning show (minus a short little sarcastic "We're good at phone calls this morning" before their shift ended).

Man, I can only imagine the husband's reaction when he heard that one.

What would you do? I know I'd be a little peeved...

EDIT: Link pulled, file gone (though you can PM me, and I'll e-mail it to you), as they realized that pulling a bit from someone is one thing, but making it available to the whole planet probably isn't a good idea.

EDIT #2: iamwiz82 confirmed that this was a ManCow sketch. I'm e-mailing the DJ to give him a bad time <hehe>.

EDIT #3: Removed the link above, as they pulled it from their site. The DJ wrote back to me and said they couldn't resist stealing the bit, but said putting it on their web page for the whole world to see probably wasn't a good idea. PM/e-mail me if you want the Window's Media file, as I have it downloaded, and will e-mail it to you. I'd put it up on Geos**ties, but don't have the time...

Holeee sh!t that's a mess to be in! There are two things you never joke about -- 1) infidelity, and 2) death/serious injury.

HOLY CRAP!! THATS A COMPLETE RIPOFF!! Mancow did that about 2 years ago, its on one of his CDs. I think its on White Cotton Panties. She goes "Now... now i dont feel bad about fscking his brother", right?

That is a pretty bad joke, especially "live" over the air, though I know most programs are digitally delayed a few seconds to stop people from saying obcenities, ect. over the air.

I guess they should have tape delayed this one, and not released any of it. I'm sure the lawyers will figure it all out.

OK, don't know who Mancow is... some sort of Jerky-boys-type group? Please enlighten me 🙂

Hmm...don't know if it was a rip-off or something...I just briefly heard it, and wasn't really paying attention to whether she addressed them (though it sounded like they did).

<shrug>

I'll pop the DJ an e-mail and see what's up.

<< Sounds a lot like this sound file I heard a while ago: Busted.wav (Scroll down to bottom of page and click on "Busted"....darn Geocities) >>

whoa...damn....that was disturbing....man, what's with radio DJs screwing up people's lives? <hehe>

Of course, that guy deserved to get caught, and that lady deserved to know the truth...

Sounds like a ratings game. Based on rip-off info from above. I'd believe it if/when it reaches other news media.

I'm not sure if Mancow did this particular joke first or not, but I did hear one practical joke that turned bad a few months ago.
This lady called up and wanted to play a joke on her husband. She didn't tell Mancow what she wanted to do, but Mancow went along anyway with her and played everything on the radio. They called her husband at work and the lady started acting like she was hurt. She then told her husband that she had lost a lot of blood, was very weak, and that she thought she had lost the baby!! The husband naturally was pretty upset and told her to call 911, and told her he loved her and to hang on, etc. Finally after a while she told him it was a joke and that he was on the radio. Wow, was that guy pissed! Mancow felt terrible and apologized to the guy over and over.

Yeah, this is a pretty small town, so I doubt it'll hit the local media (as they are pretty stuck up and won't mention "The Competition" if they don't have to).

I'll keep you posted...

yep, i remember that one. That is also on one of his CDs. the cheating wife one has definately been done before, i wonder who actually did it first, though. You might wanna do a search for mancow mp3s to see if you can find it. i'm at work and his site is banned by the proxy, so i cant search.

i find it sad and somewhat disturbing that this kind of stuff is hilarious to me 😀

kinda like the roses bit over here in seattle on 107.7 the end... if somebody think they're sig other is cheating, they'll call the guy up and tell him he's won a dozen roses and ask him where he wants to send them. the antics ensue...

I think I heard that one, over on gimptroll, but it sounded fake/staged to me.

But if true, she deserves to be divorced, it's not the fault of the phone call that she's of bad character.

[edit]Actually it's up to the couple how they deal with the infidelity, not everyone would agree it would merit a divorce.[/edit]

Added a link to the original post with a WMA file of the conversation. For you ManCow folks (imawiz?), let me know if this is off one of his CDs...if it is, I'll be sure to give the DJ hell for it 🙂
