Well OP, I'm glad Confrontation like that could very well end up in someone getting hurt so I'm glad that you and your family are okay.
 
Whoa, I'd never do what the OP did up where I live (New York). Needing to ignore rude, disgruntled, yelling people is quite common. Brutalizing someone like you did instead is really dangerous if they are armed and likely to get you arrested as well.

There is some serious irony in this given the laws regarding guns in Georgia and New York.

Perhaps this is why it's "friendlier in the south". People know they can't get away with crap like this, just a thought...
