Someone with an Accelero S1 rev 2 want to help me out?

That really sums up what I want to do. I'm aware I need to get a long floppy SLI cable to do SLI with the accelero cooler.

Would such a fan setup blow air across the fins and keep it cool, or would it not work for some reason, and if not, why not?

I think it would work. The fins are positioned in a way where air can flow through them. The only things blocking the airflow are the heatpipes, but I believe you can still get a decent amount of air over the whole heatsink.

Sweet, that's what I wanted to hear. I'm looking at getting a pair of Scythe "Kaze" fans, because they displace a TON of air, and I don't care so much about noise... that's what my speakers are there to cover up

You can do better than that -- put an 80MM fan *OUTSIDE* the pci slot covers, blowing air into the case and across the heatsink pair. Then have a standard 120mm+ fan near the CPU sucking out the hot CPU air as well as card exhaust. This setup doesn't work very well if you have front case fans. If you set all your case fans to blow out (negative case pressure setup) removing PCI slot covers will be all you need to keep cards < 60C. Solving the nvidia northbridge cooling issues with such a setup is left as an excercise to the well-funded and interested reader.

Also, if you can orient your case such that the accelero heatpipes are pointed up (read: standard desktop config vs tower) with turbo modules blowing air between the outer 2 heatpipes you'll be seeing 48C load temperatures with basic case cooling. Ask yourself, do you really want custom airflow to knock another degree off? In standard tower placement you'll be looking at ~7C higher idle and ~15C higher load.

Turbo Modules aren't an option in SLI, I thought.

I have a full-tower case with fans EVERYWHERE, including on the top, front, back, and 4 on the side. I basically just want to funnel as much cooler air as possible over the GPUs. Fan outside sounds intriguing... maybe reverse my front fan and just have like a wind tunnel for my GPUs...

Wow, looks like you've got some fantastic case airflow. Reversing the front fans should be painless enough, you've got the side fans blowing plenty of air onto your chipset. In fact, you could probably rig things in such a way that all the air intake is from the back of the case (it's closer to the cpu anyway) and all the exhaust is out the front. If all of this is for a low temperature obsessive-compulsive disorder you won't be able to beat turning the case into a desktop though. =)

As far as turbo modules -- with the accelero the turbo modules make this into a '2.5-3 slot' cooling solution, roughly. Depends how much room you've got between your cards when SLI'd. They aren't that thick or bulky -- nowhere near the size of e.g. an 80mm fan.

I have (2) accelero s1 rev 2's

To use a standard flexable cf cable (or sli) i just cut one side fin for one cable and then bent a whole between the other fins for the other cable to fit through then bent the fins back. It it hardly noticable and I didnt have to buy more cf cables which is expensive. I think this setup looks fine and works great. My temps for my hd3870 went from idle 45c, Load 84c to idle 36c load 55c

What motherboard are you running? Acceleros are ridiculously large.

I dont think the mb is the main issue since the S1's are usually no longer than a graphics card. They are higher however so you need a case that can fit them...no slim cases for sure. Mine work fine for my Asus p5-e and they are about the length of my hd3870's...slightly shorter perhaps.

I'm just saying that they're tall. I'm not terribly familiar with SLI boards other than mine, but he should make sure he has 2-3 slots between the PCI-E x16 slots.
