Police in Des Moines, Iowa, said Friday that they had arrested Terri Lynn Rote, 55, on suspicion of voting twice in the general election.

Rote, a registered Republican, allegedly submitted ballots at two different early-voting locations in Polk County, Iowa, according to local media reports. She has been charged with first-degree election misconduct, a felony.

Why I have used an early mail in ballot and do not use the ones at the polls.

And look to confirm how it registered later, although in theory that could be rigged also.

Plenty of Voter ID supporters including me have already said that all election fraud and voter fraud vectors should be closed to the maximum extent possible. We should no longer only do Voter ID than we should do other things and ignore Voter ID for transparently political reasons.

"In the mass"? Please provide evidence that this happened on a mass scale. I read one article on an utterly idiotic partisan site discussing this voting machine issue, and they were only able to cite 3 examples.

To register vote in Iowa you must have:

• A valid specific type of Photo ID with your residence
• A photo ID and a bill or other form of ID with your residence
• Someone who can attest and swear to who you are and where you live if you have neither of the above (falsely swearing is a class D felony)

Apparently there's two more cases from Iowa where it's believe people voted in person and mailed in ballots as well. They have not been arrested yet so no affiliations are known.

i saw a similar story rolling around facebook with the voting reversed...but basically it came down to a screen calibration issue, as touchscreens often have. i know the ATM at banks have that happen all the time - you just need to compensate for it. but most people don't think about that, i guess.
