Don't you have something better to do other than being a douchebag and nitpicking everything? It's common acceptance that "rims" and "wheels" mean the same thing. You're just arguing for argument's sake. Are you like 12 yrs old or something?
Have you never heard of multi-piece wheels?

Chill the fuck out, Grandma. :\

i've been telling them this for years but they refuse to acknowledge the hub and spokes. which are the parts everyone is really interested.

He gets it!

Which neighborhood do you live in? I haven't heard in a while about anything like this happening anywhere in the bay area (save oakland and EPA ).

To be specific, I actually live in S. San Francisco, its only just started happening in our neighborhood literally this past month.

Also my wife said this morning someone's car was taken out on a flat bed. 😡

I remember reading wheel thieves just use liquid nitrogen or freon to freeze off wheel locks

Well I don't expect it to stop dedicated professional, but I am hoping its just someone looking for a quick steal and it will deter them.

People don't steal tires, they steal rims. Expensive rims, of course. Expensive tires don't exist on cheap rims.

I disagree.. I've got a pair of "OEM Style" (replica wheels..) that I bought for $200 that have $800 performance tires on them..

Plus they are called wheels, not rims

Years ago someone stole the stock steel wheels off my dad's truck. Well, they only got the fronts and they got their jack stuck.

Another time, the spare tire was stolen and yet another time they stole the steering wheel (no airbag as the truck was too old)

Probably just some punk kids out to make a quick buck as these parts weren't really worth a whole lot on the used market.

I thought that the tire was the black part made of vulcanized rubber, while the rim is the metallic part, and the rim cover is what gets stolen.
Finding your car on blocks sounds so unreal, I thought it happened only in donald duck's comics.

I don't think that anyone is going to use elaborate stuff like liquid nitrogen or special keys to steal stock wheels.
The locks might dissuase those looking for quick buck for drugs.

Pain in the ass but 3 different lock lugs per wheel and one 3/4"/19mm and one 13/16"/21mm-assuming 5 studs.
Shy of that weld them.
I suppose you could use all keyed lugs.!!
