I remember reading about the "Latte Factor" in David Bach's book, Automatic Millionaire, a few years ago.

Not endorsing the book per se, but check out this calculator (bottom of the page)

buy a coffee maker and some muffins from costco.

Seriously. My sister does the same thing, she wastes an epic amount of money at that place. Personally I do my best to avoid going there. Something about places like Starbucks and Jamba Juice drive me crazy.

Along those same lines, I have some co-workers who go to Starbucks twice a day.

$2,112 per year

PROFIT!

starbucks sells espresso machines. i guess they're ok. the wife bought a coffee maker which worked pretty good i guess. now it just works at collecting dust since she doesn't drink coffee at home anymore.

I think amish likes this thread. 😀😀</blockquote>

maybe he works in starbucks....

nope, just really bored

Five bucks is a bit overboard. When I had a job (yep, unemployed), I treated myself to a $1.50 coffee daily cause I was make 15 times that in an hour. Go for the budget menu or just go to McDonalds; their coffee is ass, but dirt cheap.

Get your SO to work there.

Free 1lb bag of coffee per week and 30% off everything. Not to mention insurance for part timers.

Two more months and I can dump my wife off of my insurance and enjoy a nice 12% raise plus get free coffee to boot.

Good god, $5 a day? Wow.

My total lifetime spending at Starbucks: $0.

WTH, why is a 2 year old thread back again?
