someone stole your parking spot...(poll)

it's 1:30 AM
and some inconsiderate lummox has parked in your apt. parking space...the police say that its private property and there is nothing they can do, you don't want to go around banging on other peoples doorstep...what do you do??
A) park in back of the cretin effectively blocking him in or...
B) park somewhere else and let the air out of his tire(s)

Get some lithium greese and greese the door handles. They'll have the crap all over the place before they figure out what's goin on.

Definetly block that piece of #/%&

I'm against doing any kind of harm to other persons car, it's not the cars fault it's driven by a moron.

I'd Vaseline his windshield. Won't cause damages pouring down everywhere like oil, but it sure is bitch to clean it up.

Here is something you forgot to add in your poll:

let the air out of his tire(s) and fill the valve stem with epoxy. If time allows, undo three of his lug nuts and screw it back in place after applying Loc-Tite red(the permanent stuff).

Drain his motor oil and wait for 😀GZEE GRUNCH GZVEE VXZONK😀 as he drives away

Block him/her in and leave a note on the windscreen telling them to come and knock on your door when they want to get out.

When they come to request to get out, you could then either....

A). Pretend you are not in, forcing them to have to leave the car and find alternative transport
B). Kick off at them to ensure they don't do it again
C). Apologise for blocking them in, reassure them you won't do it again and tell them to feel free to use your space whenever they feel like in the future (reserve this one for nice lookin' ladies or BIG, mean looking guys who could easily whip your ass 🙂)

i dont think that person understands... that is ur reserved parking space.. isnt there a visitor parking area? or perhaps the street????

<< i dont think that person understands... that is ur reserved parking space.. isnt there a visitor parking area? or perhaps the street???? >>

both, are available

That happened a week ago around here...actually they had parked in front of their small driveway and couldn't get out. The person taped a HUGE sign with lotsa packing tape on the windshield saying "Move your dam car your in front of my driveway and you made me miss work!!!" I thought that was a cool way to handle it. 🙂 (it was on the street tho, so they may have gotten it towed anyways)

i think i would accidentally fall and their car happened to break the fall..... leaves some dents but hey it was an accident

Thankfully I can just call the security guard in the managers office here and he can summon a tow truck.
Got home from work at 1:30AM once to find some biatch in my spot.. 10 minutes later he was towed. yay.

thats a nice way to handle it, though dropping a small glass vile of liquid, laundry detergent down the gas tank may work as well... 😀

Doesn't your apt. complex have an emergency number? How about a towing number?

First thing in the morning, tell the Apt management that there is a problem with people taking spaces late at night, and demand that they make it possible to have these people towed 24hrs.

Either way you're screwed.

1) If you block them the only thing you'll achieve is them bothering you whenever they have to leave. Remember, your apartment number is printed on the parking spot.
2) If you let the air out of the tires, you'll just start a guerilla war between the two of you. But remember, they have the advantage of knowing where you live 🙂

i also hate it when people park out on the street and they take up two spots. especially in places like la where parking sometimes is impossible to park...

Argo makes a good point. Don't mess with someone's car. Do the right thing here... this is your apt. management's fault for not enforcing parking restrictions.

honk, baby, honk! I always honk until they come out.
If you mess with their car, there's a big chance that they'll come back and do some serious damage to your car later.
You can't change your parking spot, though.

If you've blocked him in(i'm too lazy to read the whole thread), then I suggest you leave him a note letting him know that you've also taken his plate#, because otherwise he might get the idea to slam into your car thinking you don't know who he is. Make sure he knows who you are, why you did what you did and that if he tries to retaliate, he better make it legal.

Look, anything you do to his car will be illegal.

The ethical way to go about this is to go after your apt manager. In your lease, are you guaranteed a reserved parking spot? If so, the failure of management to activly enforce this rule is a violation of your lease. Go after them and demand the ability to have people towed away 24hrs a day.

Yea, great idea, ruin someones twenty some odd thousand dollar automobile because they blocked your parking space. I hope that smile insinuates that you're joking.

I see your point, but OTOH, I care about my 15 some odd thousand dollar automobile and thus try to avoid doing things with it that would anger other people and cause them to want to damage it maliciously.
Not to mention, it's probably a $250 beater in his spot.

But you are correct--fuxing with his car is the Wrong Way to handle this situation.
