Like the title says :(. So p!ssed off...

Bike was stolen from the train station bike rack. I called the number they gave me and they said they may have CCTV of it. Maybe something can come of this? I won't be holding my breath...

Bike cost me £750 new in 2002, Cannondale Badboy hybrid. Rode like a dream compared to the old bikes I use to ride when I was younger. The sucker is that my dam seat was stolen 2 weeks ago also and I had put i new brake pads :(.

The only decent thing that has come out of this is that I'll be looking for bikes on ebay. Money I didn't want to spend in the first place though. You can get some crazy deals on bikes on ebay!

Any of you guys have had your bikes stolen?

I had been driving 50mins each way to and from work for the past 14months. Before that I use to use my bike to commute about through 3yrs of Uni. NOTHING happened to the bike in that time. The bike is worth more then my car :(. Car only cost me £600 and I had put 15k miles on it also. Just gutted to lose the bike. Rode SO well compared to the old bikes I use to ride :(. Hmmmm...now to see what I can pick up in the £500-800 range or so...I sense a bike thread coming up.

Any picks on bikes in that range? I'm fine with ebay as long as the bike is in good nick. Sorry I am bike n00b and the stuff I looked when buying my bike is 4yrs out of date :(.

It goes like:
LX
XT
XTR

Right?

btw the guy that stole my bike is a f*cking piece of sh!t amongst other things...

You left a bike worth that much on an open rack? And with no insurance apparently?

You're far braver than I would be, it's a wonder it wasn't stolen sooner.

Im just wondering seeing your thread and so many others that ride bikes do they make any kind of bike insurance like they do for cars for this very situation and if not maybe I should look into being the only one to start it up?

Sorry to hear about your bike though, hope they catch the ass who did it. Might as well get a beater bike to take to and from the train station so nobody will want it :p

Ya, had mine stolen 2 weeks into university, chained up to a rack.
Was only £350, but insurance didn't cover it, even though my dad said it would :(
It's a bitch, but it happens.

There are several YTMNDS that I could post right now, but I won't. ;). Sorry to hear about your bike being stolen though. Someone broke into my garage a few months ago and stole my cd's, a nice poker chip set, and a garage remote from out of my truck. Bastards

I've left the bike at the station on and off for the past 4yrs.

I use to lock it with 2/3 other locks but I was using one of the locks at home and hadn't been using the other lock at the station :(. Dam it...

Any of you guys get bike insurance? I'll have to look in to this for my next bike purchase. I thought most bike insurance was cr@p as they didn't insure it at places other then your house?

Thats harsh but at least it made me chuckle. I was stunned when was trying to find my bike and it was gone. Spent 25minutes looking for the lock or any sign of the bike :(.

Someone stole my bros beater bike at his Uni :(

I have had mine stolen as well. Partly, it was my fault, because I was in a hurry and chained just around my front tire (yea I know, stupid me). It was kind of funny, because the fvcker left my front tire and when I looked at the bike next to me, its front tire was missing.

I got my bike stolen from the rack at school. They only left the front wheel because that's the way I used to lock it. It's funny because you can see how many bikes have been stolen because of the front wheels that are left on the racks all around school.

I had a decent D lock on it :(. I 'usually' have 2/3 more locks on the bike. But for the past week I hadn't been using the other lock. Expensive lesson learnt :(

Dude, that was just too nice a bike to lose.....I feel for you. I've had to lock my bike, a Trek 5200, and use two Kryptonite NY Locks on it and still don't feel completely secure....but what can you do when you have to park it and leave it?

whoa, 750 pounds, not 75

When I first read it, I thought it said 75, I began to think why you would make a thread about that, but then I realized there must be a reason and so I read it again. All I can say is that the guy who stole it is a douchebag and needs to get a life. I've had some stuff stolen and while you'll eventually forget about it, the hate for a person who steals things like that won't. I still hate the guy who stole my graphing calculator, even simple things make me wonder why they bother.
