Say, around 50 to 60 dollars.

This is outrageous. Same with ST:TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT. I'd like to have some of these shows in my collection, but I don't know many people who can justify the cost of those sets.

That's why I usually buy the expensive season collections used...

Those sets are priced that way because that's what the market will bear... what's with all the anti-capitalists on ATOT lately?

EDIT: the shows

Already did, rip offs. :(

As for as the burn and return philosophy goes, buying a lot of DVDs aren't cheap either. Then there's the time factor related to encoding TV DVDs to DivX/Xvid. Converting them to DivX/Xvid also means that they will suck up lots of hard drive space, forcing me to buy larger hard drives.

Perhaps after I get my BluRay burner . . .in about 8 months. . . .

Bah, I think it'd be a lot easier for all concerned, and a better overall business model, to limit the sale of DVD seasons to 60 USD. They'd sale a lot more DVDs for 60 then they would at 120.

And a single season of ST:TNG is 120, same with DS9, VOY, TOS, and The Twilight Zone, and more.

If they cost less, more people would buy them. At those prices, they practically force people to BT and other filesharing apps.

How about a petition limiting the cost of TV in general. $50 for standard cable is killing me.

They can only sell them at that price if people buy them. The consumer sets the price and it shouldn't be any other way.

Since when have big corps and labels cared what the little consumer cares about? Look at the RIAA and MPAA, you think the majority of people agree with them?

I won't be buying the over priced sets, but a lot of other people will buy them. And they will continue to sell them at the over priced prices.
