someone should build a dvd based mp3 player

does anyone else think this is a good idea?


i was thinking, there are tons of dvd burner deals, dvd disks are $1. just put like a 32mb buffer on it , whcih cant be that much, and a lithium battery. cant cost much more than $150.


i figure, you cant really run with a hard disk based one anyway...


they could make it usb 2.0 / firewire, and also work as an external laptop drive.


PLEASE some taiwanese OEM read this and make it happen.

There is already one, made by BenQ... it costs $99 CDN here, in Ottawa. I'd expect it to be cheaper in the States.

That's a pretty damned nice piece of machinery there. Just imagining the amount of music you could cram in MP3 format onto a DVD ... :Q
