He thinks Rasho is better than Shaq? There's no answer for Manu? Get him off NBA Fastbreak!

"I still think the Spurs are the team out west!"

I'm a kings fan so that means I'm NOT a Lakers fan but you have to admit Shaq is good. Yao is too soft.

I just want the Timberwolves to get healthy with at least 20 or so games left in the season. That way they can develop chemistry and make their run to the NBA championship! They are only one game back of San Antonio as it is and Hudson, Olowokandi, and Sczerbiak have combined for a paltry 338 total minutes played this season.

I wholeheartedly agree on both accounts, but they will still help nonetheless. Sczerbiak is a lights out shooter, he just cant create his own shot. With the teams in the past few years, he has been forced to do that and not as successful. This year with teams forced to guard Spree, Cassell, and KG, Wally will get way more open looks and will punish teams that leave him open. Then you add Kandi to the mix and you force teams into one on one coverage and I dont think anyone in the league can guard all 5 guys the Twolves can put onto the floor at once. Kandiman is nowhere near an upper echelon C but given good health and enough time with McHale, I think he could be on the same level as Brad Miller. Plugging him into the lineup with his career averages of 9ppg and almost 8rpg, and comparing it to the current production of the Twolves centers, you have just enough added production to make a difference. Overrated yes, but still a huge upgrade from Ervin Johnson/Oliver Miller. Then put Hudson in to spell relief at G for either Sprewell, Cassell, or Wally and the team is dangerous. First round? Guaranteed win. I dont think the conference finals are a longshot by any means.

you are right... wally is a spot shooter and if he's left open he can hit. Kandiman however can't seem to stay healthy.
I hope it's wolves and kings in the west finals, they're my 2 favorite teams out west.

dont forget sean elliot spent his career with the spurs so of course his opinion is bias. as of this point, with that said i dont think the spurs are able to defeat the lakers (in the playoff) even when the lakers are playing bad defense. why? because the lakers are an offensive powerhouse. that is a given. the lakers defense is total crap but then again the spurs offense is also total crap. everything runs through duncan as their primary scorer. parker and ginobili are streaky.

Man I hope that comes true as well. I live in the Bay Area so I could go see my boys in the playoffs! I think we need to refit Kandiman with bionic parts...

i don't think it matters if kandi is healthy or not. i can count the range of diversity of his offensive arsenal with one finger. since he is tall and stringy like KG, i was hoping that KG teaches him something. but with his injuries, i have yet to see some improvements in his game.

no one predicted an 82-0 season so quit exaggerating. a lot of fans were hoping the lakers beat the bulls record but that is also a hoops dream. people with any common sense would know that it takes at least a season for these 4 guys to gel. it was great seeing the lakers come out strong in the season but i've grown to realize it'll take a lot of time and work to beat the bulls record or even come close to it. maybe in the 2nd or 3rd year we'll see a strong dominance but the lakers are STILL beatable this year.

by the way, the only announcer to publicly make such a claim is bill walton who predicted an awesome season for the lakers. of course his son is on the team so he might be bias too :p

they are since they won the championship last year, it's only natural the championship goes through SA. But Rasho > Shaq, uh.... wrong. And even if you despise the Fakers you have to admit they're the team out west to beat. The team is stacked like the Red Wings a few years ago.

Lets not forget that Kandi averaged 12/9 last year for the Clippers. Not All-Star numbers, but Brad Miller put up 13/8 last year and made the All-Star team. yeah it was the East but still, hes a solid player. I stick by my beliefs that when Kandi comes back, if he can stay health through the rest of the season, and do some real rehab in the offseason along with some work with McHale and Garnett, he can come back and be a 15/10 player with out much difficulty at all. Gotta remember that this is only his 10th year of organized basketball in his life. Sans injuries, he will develop into a dependable center.

i can name 5 centers off the top of my head that's better than rasho. in fact, the spurs got the short end of the stick paying rasho $8mil/yr.

People have been waiting for him to become this "dependable" center for a long time. He had that spurt near the end of the season 3-4 years back where he had like 20PPG. But after that, he drifted back into his slump and pretty much people have lost faith in this guy. Like I said, he has the physical attribute to be a great center. But he needs to expand his game to something more than back down, back down, little hook.

Either way... get ready to see the "stacked" starting lineup of G. Payton, D. George, Grant, Mevedenko & Derek Fisher for the next few weeks.

I don't like seeing injuries.. but for all the taunts i've seen from numerous Faker fans throughout the season about the Spurs injuries... it's good to see Karma in effect.

Some of you seem confused...

fivespeed5 stated Rasho is better than Shaq simply because Elliot said the Spurs are favored over the lakers.

My comment, for those who have 0% programming knowledge..

(Spurs > Lakers) != (Rasho > Shaq)

Just because he's calling the Spurs better than the Lakers, doesn't mean he's calling Rasho better than Shaq. Common sense people.

I think you're confused. He stated on NBA fastbreak tonight that Duncan > Malone (true), Rasho > Shaq (false), Bowen can shut down kobe (okay....), and lakers have no answer to Manu.
