Damn, paint stripper... that really sucks, I have to wonder what's going through their mind when they do something like that - maybe nothing at all?

I hope home owners covers this, I know auto insurance will raise your rate even if your not at fault. (happened to my sister)

Edit: and no, I was not parked in the middle of the road or something, it was in a private driveway.

Home owners won't cover any damage to an auto. You have to file a claim with your auto insurance co.

Damn, this probably means my rate will rise and I have a chance of being kicked off the policy.

What a stressful situation.

Wow, that's the first time I've ever heard of someone sticking bologna to a car when it was really really cold. I mentioned it here online a few years ago, but also noted that since I suspected it could cause permanent damage, I would never do it.

Or you could not tell your insurance company about it and pay for the repairs yourself. Might be cheaper in the long term.

Just spoke with my regular body shop guy, he told me 1500-2000.

Anyways, I called my insurance company, they seemed really cool about it, I explained the car was stationary, with no one in it, not at my home address, and that other cars were also hit. I also had a police report number.

I will be bringing it in tommarow.

Hopefully this is the last time.
