Someone please remind me how to do this

When I open a PM the message window is tiny. I right click on the top bar and choose resize from the menu. I close the window, and it reopens too small again. How can I change the default size of that window?

The area in which you can type is fixed, but the window itself is now smaller than that. To see everything I have to drag at the edges and make it bigger. Imagine you took the window you were looking at and made it 2x2 inches. You would not be able to see everything in it. That is what is happening to me, but just in the PM window

Hold down the ctrl key and scroll with your mouse in an open PM window.

Look the size of the fonts in his screen shot.

It's a lappy

If it makes a difference, I am running 1920x1200 so the fonts look smaller


Maybe I should just size the window, and power it off.

You should open the PM window. Resize it. Don't hit maximize. Hold the shift key and close it. It should open the way you saved it. If not see here.
You may also want to lock your explorer view (also locks taskbar):

Open windows to the size you want them and

Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

Right Click in the right pane and choose New>DWORD Value. Type NoSaveSettings to name itand press enter. Now double click the "NoSaveSettings" icon and type "1" in the Value Data box and press enter.

Close any windows. Logg off and then log back on.
