Someone please explain to me what I have

Okay...the very back of my throat hurts like hell and of course it hurts to swallow. Then at the farthest parts of my inner ear there is this constant pressure and ache. I have not been able to sleep well for a few days now. I am taking sinus meds, cough drops and drinking tea.

sounds like you have some wacky sinus stuff going on, maybe mixed in with some seasonal bug. do you have allergies? talk to the doc stat.

sounds like an inflammatory process in your throat... quite possibly strep throat. The pain in your ear is b/c the swelling in your throat is clamping your eustachian tube, which is how your inner ear equilibrates with the outside pressure. If your running a fever take some asprin then go to the doc so he can give you some antibiotics if it's bacterial. Any white patches? Might be viral, never know :-\

Anyone know anything else for strep throat, as I have no insurance at th moment, switching jobs and cobra is too dang expensive.

Salt water garggling and sucking on Zn tablets can ease the symptoms and kill some bacteria too. Strep throat can disseminate systemically and turn into a nasty infection. Penecillin is very cheap, even w/o insurance. Go to a clinic.

antibiotics

Go to the hospital or Dr. which would be cheaper.

Most likely either strep throat or a viral infection. Strep throat is not to be trifled with. Text

There's not much to be done about a virus though.

Try gargling with warm and very salty water, it can help the symptoms sometimes.
