Someone please explain to me the difference between all these geforce 4's???

Do not buy a cheap Geforce4. It is probably in the MX line. They suck. Only buy one of the non-MX GeForce4 products. You can read about them all at Anandtech

Ok..here goes.

The 'cheap' GF4's are of the MX variety. These are just updated GF2's really... none of the DX8 features enabled. It's a totally different processor (NV17 if I am not mistaken)

The 'real' GF4's are the ti models. They use the NV25 (I think). They are the upgraded core from the GeForce 3.

In other words, GF4MX is suck (unless you need to spend no more than 100 dollars on a card) while GF4ti kicks major boo-tay.

The cheap GeForce4's are the MX ones. They aren't really GeForce 4's! They are actually enhanced GeForce2's that were renamed GeForce4 so companies like Compaq or Dell could put them in a PC and fool the uninformed costomer.

What you want is the GeForce4 Titanium series. Those are the real deal...

I think this is the true order of speed:

GeForce4 Ti 4600
GeForce4 Ti 4400
GeForce3 Ti 500
GeForce3
GeForce4 MX 460
GeForce3 Ti 200
GeForce2 Ultra
GeForce4 MX 440
GeForce2 Ti 200
GeForce2 Pro
GeForce2 GTS
GeForce2 GTS-V
GeForce2 MX 400
GeForce2 MX
GeForce2 MX 200

Not 100% sure though.

Ha ha...😀

What card are you upgrading from? If it's a real POS, maybe even going to the MX line would be a major upgrade. What kind of budget do you have?

It's sad, yet funny.
