OK

I got a round trip tickets to China. United Airlines (economy) Baltimore -> Beijing (no stops) $879!!!! On the same exact site you see tickets significantly expensive for longer layovers and more stops. Some tickets have 3 different transfers and 2 to 4 hour layovers for $2,100 !!!!!!! Who would pay that. Who do they think would even do that.

I was looking at first class tickets!!!! $8,000 and you have 3 stops. and a 1 hour layover at each. How is this considerd first class. How do they come up with these prices.

What's wrong with a 1 hour layover? You're going to be saying "shit shit shit" on the plane when you hear the pilot announce "Attention passengers, we have to divert around a major storm system. Our flight will be about 20 minutes longer than expected."

Because changing ~50% chance of missing your connections due to airlines being totally incapable of taking off withing a half hour of the scheduled departure time.

Sometimes it takes a little extra fuel to get the treadmil going fast enough.
