I searched but I guess it's still a possible repost. Anyway we have 2 figures composed of the same shapes in different configurations, only one figure has a greater surface area. To quote the page, how can this be?
So a hypotenuse is the long side of a right triangle. I'm still not seeing how they can be used to create an extra "unit" of area between 2 otherwise solid figures. Since they both fit in the grid and are composed of shapes that have the same dimensions, shouldn't they have the same area?
