I'm venting...
So I go to Six Flags Great America near my hometown today to spend some time with some of my old buddies and I decide to drive. We park in the standard parking lot and have a grand ol' time trying to hit up every ride we could. Let me tell you, riding a rollercoaster while it's raining hurts. The rain hits you like pins and needles, painful, yet strangely enjoyable. But enough about that...
Eventually we make it back to the car at around 9:20 PM during a torrential downpour and rush to get home. Later tonight we went to Applebee's to get some grub. It's not until 1:00AM when I stare at my hood and realize that there's 2 huge scratches that are perpendicular to each other. One of them is vertical and about 1.5 feet long down the passenger side. It's deep enough that it killed the clearcoat and destroyed the color coat. The other scratch is moving horizontal and is about 2 feet long, but not deep at all. I believe I can simply buff it out if I wanted to.
The hood already has some small pits and a 1 centimeter long gouge from a salt truck so I don't really care all too much. I can always use touchup on the deep scratch and hope that it didn't go through the primer and onto the bare metal. I just feel so violated. I don't remember seeing the scratch prior to going to Great America, so I can only assume that it happened there while I couldn't defend it. Remind me never to park at Great America ever again.
BTW, I drive a Black Altima, so you can really see the scratch. Poor Altima
