Someone in the Sears warranty department is smoking crack

Yesterday in the mail I got a notice from Sears that the 1 year warranty on my $89 19" LCD TV is about to expire.

They offered to renew it for an additional year for the low low price of $75, or for two years for $125.

You gotta be kidding me, right? Who would be crazy enough to do this??

That's almost as good a deal as the extended service and replacement warranty I just bought at Best Buy with my new 16Gb USB flash drive. Like a boss.

And just where do you suppose they're getting the money for the crack?

You'd be surprised. There are a lot of stupid people out there.
Same with those who rent a 60" HDTV for $29.99/week, minimum contract is 138 weeks (2 years 8 months). 😱

*LG 60" Plasma (model 60PA5500) and Magnavox 32" LED (model 32ME303V/F7) at $29.99 per week for 138 weeks, Total of All Payments: $4,138.62; GA/PA- Cost of Lease Services: $1,196.60; CA- $29.99 per week for 135 weeks, Total of All Payments: $4,048.65;

Current of price of TV is about $1200. If on sale about $800.

some old people don't get consumism and prefer to keep wasting money, repairing TVs and stuff, also to avoid the adaptation effort.
