Yes - low carbs. By not eating carbs, your body goes into a state called ketosis.
It creates ketones which, in turn, cause fat mobilization (removal). MOST people loose all their energy.

So it's essentially throwing your body against itself and making it digest itself. And somehow that's not unhealthy?

Ketosis is unhealthy..... fad diets always have a serious downfall. Pills don't work either.
The only way to lose weight healthily is to reduce caloric intake (eat less calories per day) and remove caloric buildup (exercise to increase metabolism and burn fat)

Initial weight loss (somewhat rapid) is also due to water loss. Since CHO is basically removed, glycogen is broken down by the use of 3 H2O molecules which result in initial rapid weight loss. Basically it is a false sense of lost weight.Originally posted by: guapo337

Where do you get your facts from? I've never read anything about ketosis being unhealthy, do you even know what ketosis is?

So you're dehydrated on top of having no energy? Sounds like a deal! Where can I get in on it?

No, you dont get dehydrated. On the diet, you should have at least eight glasses of water every day, which everyone should be having in the 1st place regardless of whether you're on any diet. I have more energy after getting on the diet, and my energy level is more constant throughout the day. Contrary to what you might think, you can also have vegetables, limited at first, but have more the longer you're on it.

From my clinical dietitian. Plus, do a google search on how great ketosis is. Do you like to believe diet makers trying to make a dime from their diet, or do you believe clinical dietitians how don't care whether or not you give them money. People will tell you anything to get a dollar.
