There is a probabilistic argument for putting older people in leadership positions. If you've gotten to the age of say 50 without ending up in jail, bankrupt, or dead you must have some level of sense because the you've made it through many different environments. Whereas someone who young and successful may just have gotten lucky or been in the right place at the right time.

Take someone like Warren Buffet. He's survived many crises and crashed that have wiped others who had a few good years.

Of course this all falls apart if you think that these people have just been coasting on their early success.

Young people may be better about certain technology, but older people have more perspective on other things. And no leader is going to know everything about all topics. They delegate and trust advisers on certain issues.

In the end, age shouldn't be held against anyone. If someone is senile like Reagan, that's a health issue and not an age issue.

Focus on the issues and don't waste your time with ad hominem.
 
Experience. Honestly, if a 100 year old were of sound mind and an acceptable political mindset, they could make a great leader.

Younger people are more adaptable, better able to relate to others, can understand technology, and are more likely to be tolerant.

Time to set age limits on offices? They already bar those "too young", let's put in a restriction on "too old".

Personally i'm not only tolerant of gay marriage, i'm a supporter of it and voted against Prop.8 here in California. I really can't say in general, I haven't seen any reliable polls that broke it down that way.

Now I don't get that. I mean when, where or how would you be confronted by a gay marriage? Two gay Jehovah Witnesses going door to door pushing conversion?
Unless your lucky enough to be invited to a gay wedding, you'll never be exposed to it.

My cousin was gay-married. Nice normal civil ceremony. Woman judge.
Weird thing is... some of his co workers were VERY vocally anti SS marriage, but after realizing they had not been invited, they were more pissed they were left out and missed attending an actual for real SS marriage.
Go figure...

It's just a stupid wedge issue forced upon us so that we can argue about it incessantly. It's actually irrelevant to virtually everybody, but some pretend it's not and get their panties in a wad over it one way or the other. I truly don't give a sh*t if it exists or not.
