Someone deleting posts in threads?

I think they were just deleted because they were going to derail the thread into a P&N pissing contest.

It seems that my thread is gone now...
Why?

OK: Someone has deleted my post. It was not P&N. The thread was not the fault, it was few ass-hats who tried to derailed it.

Unfortunately, we have to do that sometimes when a thread goes off like that. By the way, it isn't actually deleted. In fact, we can't delete it even if we wanted to, only a DBA can physically remove a thread or post. When you hear of a thread or post being deleted, that really means it was moved to a location that you can't see, only mods can.

That thread was "deleted" because it went way into P&N, and turned into an argument/discussion on the mods. That isn't appropriate for OT, so a mod "deleted" it. Unfortunatley, that means that the OP loses the thread.
