Claims she is much happier and healthier today.

We just took in a three legged Siamese. Some asshole had shot him.

The no kill rescue we got him from had to have his right hind leg removed because all he could do was drag it. Bullet is still lodged next to his spine. We now have four cats making us 80% the way to being crazy cat people.

Told my wife she needs to avoid petco when they have adoptions on.

He's pretty nice so I don't feel to bad taking care of him.

Nice job!

Timely thread; I've wanted a cat a long time and today I finally got off my ass and adopted one from the shelter. He's a social and active guy and very friendly. Holy fuck the hair shedding though... WOW. I knew cats left hair but good Lord. I've been brushing him and I think it's helped a little bit.

Congratulations on the kitty. They're fun to have around. I could make four new cats every year from the fur my two drop.

That cat hasn't been alive long enough to have endured the significant abuse we think of when we hear about abused animals. It's barely been alive long enough to neglect. Are we assuming abuse based on the head wound/birth defect/whatever it is?

I read "much happier today" in an entirely different context when someone/something is only days old.
