Powers
Tullamore Dew

More expensive:
Knappogue
Redbreast (my favorite)

Super expensive but worth every penny:
Middleton
}

Scotch
{
Cheap but good:
Glenlivet 12 (my choice for ~30)
Glenfiddich (meh)

More expensive:
The Macallan 15(awesome)
Glenmorangie

Super expensive:
Sky is the limit here.. most I've tried are delicious
Macallan 17 year is amazing.
}

I don't like bourbon.. someone else can help you there.
The only palletable ones I've had are Knob Creek and Makers

Johnny Walker Gold or Blue are outstanding. Black is decent as well, and far more common/affordable.

Most of us could never afford Blue. I sure as hell couldn't. I've never even been able to taste it. I would like to though. I hope it's worth the price.

canadian is typically more mellow than american whiskey
ryes are a bit spicier than corn whiskeys
scotches are smoked, of course
i forget what irish is good for.

I actually had a scotch on the weekend that had none of the smoky/peaty flavour. It was interesting, but I really like the peaty flavour so it wasn't quite for me.

I find Canadian whisky tastes more like butter and caramel. American whiskey is more... corn flavoured 😛

I'd say that just about anyone could afford it. Just not all the time.

Crown Royal overpriced? 😕

This isn't going to work...

It is around here. Rednecks think it's the king of the whiskeys. It's not bad but it's nothing special tho. But women do love the purple bag it comes in.
