It chewed up everything around the house. The funny thing is that she only does it when i'm around the house. What the hell is the reason for this? just to piss me off so that i'll beat it till it die?

When i'm not home, she doesn't do shit.

Yesterday she chewed up my slipper. I beat the fck out of her, screaming & yelling. Today, when i came home (left the house for 6 hours) and went to the bathroom, when i got out, she chewed up the other slipper to a million pieces.

I got the impression from later posts that he was exagerating.

I know sometimes I feel like I'm "beating the fvck" out of our cat. The cat likes to claw the carpet (we bought it a scratching mat). Usually, I would just give it 3 smacks on the hindquarters, but one time it clawed the carpet, was punished, clawed the carpet again five minutes later, was punished a little harder, and clawed the carpet AGAIN five minutes later. That third time I was infuriated, but I still only smacked it on it's hindquarters, but like 20 times and with a bit more force than usual. I would have called this "beating the fvck" out of the cat, but I would not say it was inhumane.

And this cat is not mistreated. We've bought it a scratch mat, it gets all the food it wants, we give it catnip, we give it kitty milk, it gets toys occasionally which it promptly tears apart, my wife is always petting it and will sit with it whenever it is willing; and if it is in a feisty mood and wanting to play, I'll knock it around and chase it around the house for a while. Sometimes, though, it would still act insolent, but consistent and sometimes severe punishment has changed that behavior and now it gets punished maybe less than once a month or two.

no...they chew it up to get back at you for ignoring them. They do it behind your back so they won't get caught. Just play with the dog! or give it to someone who can take care of it and buy yourself a stuffed animal. By the way...you have to catch a dog doing something wrong to punish them. they don't understand whats going on if you yell at them later about it. They aren't that smart...maybe your aren't either...

Eventually we just started rubbing his face the the shreds of paper and hitting him firmly on the rear with the new one. He caught on after about a month and now is the best old dog I could ever hope for.

And how would you know that? Were you there with him? Because if your only "proof" is that he told you, that's some pretty crappy proof (he BSes a lot, you see). AND even if he was in the army, it doesn't prove he killed anyone or that he's not 5'2" and 95 lbs. and repeatedly beat up in school.
