SOMEBODY HELP!!!!!

Here's whats going on! Installed ATA 100 controller card and Maxtor 30 gig HD (both new) No matter what OS I install (98, 98SE or Win Me) I get system registry errors, then windows says its going to fix the problem , it wipes out all my drivers. I've tried all OS's at least twice. I've by passed the controller card, reformated everytime. This is as far as I've got without any problems. Anybody know whats going on. Thanks for the replies inadvance. I just hope thing thing will hold up long enough to get an answer.

People will need a little more information about your setup/config to try and help. For instance, what motherboard, processor, memory and video card are you using? What sound card?

Do you get any errors while installing the OS, or just after the OS is installed?

Is anything overclocked in the system? What front side bus speed are you running?

If you're not sure about how to answer some of the questions, just say so, there's lots of people that can help with that

I did get some errors during installation, but most went smoothly system is: Asus P5A mobo, AMD K62450@450, 256 megs ram, Sound Blaster Live value
(SB live drivers are the only drivers not installed now( maybe thats why theres no problems?) Diamond Stealth 32 vid card PCI, D-link network card,
plextor 12/10/32 and creative 52x cdrom. FSB is 100. I'll go install the sound now! I'll check back after I install the sound(I HOPE)

Sound drivers installed. Still working. Win 98 seems to be the most stable of the 3 OS's

Did you format using the Maxtor utility? If so, there... may be the prob.
