Ugh. I have officially learned what computer illiterate people do with their lives over the last month. After moving last month, Time Warner gave us a 4 week installation date. Well, as time rolled on, Time Warner determined that they would bill us about $600 for the equipment the rep told us to keep until they came and set us up at the new house. That coupled with them telling us they wanted $150 to "install" service at the new place (install.... not just transfer... as in new account) made me tell them to shove off.
So Verizon was kind enough to give me DSL cheaper. Not to mention they said they'll be upgrading to 3Mbit service in the near-term too. Oh, and my scheduled DSL start date is the 26th, and it's been up for the last 2 days, so cheers to them.
But seriously... what has happened in the world over this last month? Did I miss any good attention-whoring or flame-fests? Links please. :beer:
