Some Video Codecs Dont Work with XP?

Windows 95, 98, and ME have a very different (and inferior) kernel from Windows NT/2000/XP. Because of the differences that exist between the two kernels, device drivers for one set can't be used on the other; the same goes for video codecs. So, in short, the answer to your question is Yes.

Man, I hear ya there..I wish I had jumped ship when Win2K came out instead of sticking it out with 98. Allthough I seem to have less probs with Win98 than others and can say it actually treated me good, XP is just so much better. I used to be nervous shipping a system out my door with Win98/ME knowing that I was going to be getting support calls :disgust: Not so much anymore with XP 🙂
