Some things are so hideous, they are beyond comprehension

I can't even imagine a disabled 14 year old that weighs only 28lbs..........................

When I first read that I thought it had to be a typo and not to often do I get teary eyed, but this is just sick to the highest degree.

The world is just downright scary.

If death by firing squad was still around, I'd volunteer for this one with pride. Anyone who thinks I'm being sick or just running my mouth, read the link. From what I've read she doesn't deserve to continue, her life is not precious. Some people are just evil. Although I'm wondering why they didn't go for murder charges.

28 lb 14 year old? probably means she was starved long term, which would imply permanent physical and mental disabilities. That's just sad..

This isn't an isolated case. In 2000 I photographed a Southern California couple who had a 15 year old daughter suffering from myotonic dystrophy. She weighed in at 44 pounds at the time of her death and the parents were accused of abuse, neglect, starving her, and then eventually convicted of manslaughter. I was in the courtroom taking photos of them when the guilty verdicts were read.

Sometimes these chronically ill children die of their illness despite the best efforts of good doctors and loving parents, but the horrific nature of the death leads overzealous prosecutors to charge the parents anyway. Other times there absolutely is criminal neglect and abuse that basically equates to premeditated murder.

Stories like this are so tragic.

Feeding her was probably nearly impossible.

I have more faith in humanity than this article is showing.
One person neglecting to starvation might be neglect, but 4 people makes me think this was more a case of natural selection.
