<< i got the audio cable running from the audio spot on the mobo to the audio onthe sound card>>

i thing i supposed to from sound card to cd rom not to mobo, the one at mobo is for ac'97 built in sound
anyway it's still not helping with your problem, it could be wrong setting or driver issue.

what mobo u used, try to use the built in sond first see if it's working, take out the turtle beach and install the driver from the mobo cd, and if you want to try the turtle beach make sure you dissable the onboard sound, could be on the bios or jumper, deppends on your mobo.

make sure your onboard sound is disabled if you want to use your Turtle beach card.. oh and u probably don't want a connector between the disabled onboard audio, and the running soundcard...

<<its a epox 8k7a >>

I'm not sure for 8k7a but epox usually has that setting
for dissable the onboard audio on the bios
