You've obviously never worked with children and don't have any of your own. He was probably climbing on it and it came down on him. Mom was probably in the kitchen making lunch, and then it was too late (children die like this all the time.) It's not unheard of by any means. It happens. 2 year olds can be squirmy little buggers. THey have just learned how to do things like climb but they don't have any sense. I've spent many a day herding toddlers around and it is exhausting.

Anyway, so tell me again here... what's funny about the pain they are in? And do you think that they deserve what happened because they were stupid?

I don't care about religion. I just feel the pain of these people, and I can't imagine having anything other than compassion for them.

I can't imagine laughing at people who are grieving for the loss of a loved one, period.

It would be a better world if all people understood that we all hurt.

You are right. I don't have children. But I do know something about kids because I have brothers and newphews. You never ever leave them alone in another room. So am I to feel sorry for this parent who neglected her kid? Besides, I don't know very many 2-year-olds that can scale a filing cabinet let alone topple it.

OK, you win. You obviously have perfectly good reasons for having no sympathy or compassion for these people. You are an excellent judge and jury of the human condition!

:D

You can make fun all you like.

When your heart feels like it is lying outside of you, being stomped on by the unfairness of life, I hope that people have compassion for you. I mean that.

Zion died at home Sunday when a filing cabinet fell on him while his mother was in the kitchen and his father was attending church, said Verna Pottle, a spokeswoman for the Silverthorne Police Department.

Are you going to tell me that a 2-year-old pushed/pulled this onto him? And the mother didn't hear this because??? :Q

Sure, it is an expression of grief. Normal people don't ask God to bring back a dead person - they cry, and eventually get mostly over it. Funny was meant as in "wierd", like "you look funny" ;)

Normal people are what constitute at least 68% of the population. Since it is my personal conviction that roughly 98% of the people out there are complete and utter morons, I think I'll stick to deviance.

Cheers ! :)

hey Susan :)

No, they are picking apart stupidity.

Come on nik, you know you have done the same. Just because it is religious doesn't mean it is any less retarded.

No, these people aren't going around "LOOK AT WHAT WE'RE DOING!" they're just doing it.

You people are running to them and pointing fingers and laughing. That's my problem.

nik

because they deserve it.

sounds right to me..

I wont comment on what they're doing now, but it takes a sick, depraved person to laugh at a family after their son just died

Isla, please don't scare me... :( Do not mention yourself and suicide within the same sentence again, I beg you. God may choose to take away a loved one at any moment for no apparent reason, but He would also be graceful enough to provide the strengh to deal with the pain and grief.

As for the immature little children in this thread, you are being insensitive on so many levels it's appalling.
The toddler's parents are struggling with immense emotional pain. To laugh at them is like kicking a dying person.
You ridicule their faith, the faith that will most probably give them the courage and strength to survive this tragedy and return to a fairly normal life.
Naturally the parents will feel responsible for the death of their baby, even though from the article it sounds like their only fault was not thinking of all possible ways their baby could harm himself. And yet some of you go as far as accusing them of being fully responsible for his death.
The fact that some of you are so ignorant that you even talk of embalming as disgusting and something you would never do to your own child, well, that does not count much anymore, since you probably cannot sink any lower.

I just hope you will not find yourselves in a similar situation one day, because you will most likely have no idea how to deal with it and choose the "easy" and instant cure to your misery.

These people are doing nothing illegal, nor are they harming anyone. Just because someone does something that seems odd to you does not make it laughable/contemptible.

Would I keep the corpse of my child around the house? No. Do I think it's odd? Yes, but no more odd than the amount of time some atheist devote to something they don't believe.

I don't believe in Karma, and as such I almost never mention it nor even think about it.

Makes one wonder if the noisier atheist out there are trying to convince themselves.

Paul Jungck, who describes himself and his family as charismatic Christians

WTF is that supposed to be, huh?

Here are all religions of the world according Mike. (in no order) Catholicism, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Mormon, Buddhist, Muslim (gotta include it...don't like to, but have to) and Hindu. All others are just breakaway cults.

When I die, I wanna be burried in the ground without a casket. I wanna decompose as fast as possible. Caskets are retarded..... No matter what religion you are (almost), you do not believe that you need your physical body for the afterlife. Why then, would I want to preserve it in a casket for 30+ years?

A cardboard box will do fine for me. Since my family will probably not do that, I want to be creamated.

Won't be eating cream pies the first while when you die!
