i was just makeing sure other people know that. I had one idiot park in front of my driveway and wouldnt move (had a flat) claiming its legal. he was waiting for a tow truck and we had leave.

Odd part is i have a farm. there is a bunch of area he could have pulled over but he chose my driveway! heh

My HOA prohibits parking on the street. In fact, pickup trucks must be parked inside the garage, not even on the driveway!

I live down a dead end street. There are only about 6 houses on the block. There is a bingo hall across the street. Saturday and Minday nights. People from three towns park here. They have their own parking lot, but think it is easier to leave from the street at the end of the night. So, they take up EVERY parking space for two blocks. And if we are not here and parked from the hours of 7:00PM - 1:00AM on those nights, we have to park about four blocks away from our house.

It sucks!

get your town to institute a permit.
my town has residential parking permits that keeps the people from different towns parking in my town and taking the bus/ferry across to the city.

easier said than done. this is a little close knit town. I doubt the town will go for it.

Today is Saturday. There are cars parked for three blocks. The b/f is due home from work in approx 1 hour and he will have no place to park, as he has commerical plates on his Ford F-350 and they will tow him if he just parks it somewhere else. Normally he will just park it right on the sidewalk in front of our house. But that means he has to stay up and dressed until 1:00AM and move it.

I hate them all.

We used to have a guy that lived two blocks away that owned FIVE classic cars. Vet, Mustang, Rolls Royce, T-Bird and ...i forget the last one.. but he parked all five on our block, cause it is really quiet here and less chance for damage for him. But, the ppl who lived here had no place to park. I asked him, nicely, four times to not leave his vehicles here for days and days on end. He did not listen.

Finally, I took an EMPTY can of paint stripper, washed it well, inside and out.... Then I took a piece of cardboard and the can and placed the can on top of the cardboard on the hood of his classic Rolls. That was the last message he needed and parked his cars on his own damn block from then on.

I'm practically in disbelief that this question was even asked, because it reminds me so much of something that happened while at a previous job. I swear this is a true story.

The owner of the company I worked for owned land on both sides of the dead-end street where the business was located. There was one business (TruckCo) farther down the road than his. He decided that since he owned the land on both sides of the road, then TruckCo ought to be paying him a fee to drive past his business, since it's logically his road. :roll:

He sent them a letter notifying them that they would need to start paying "rent" to drive past his business or else they would not be permitted to use the road. (Keep in mind, this is a public road!) Unsurprisingly, TruckCo ignored the letter. He sent another. Also ignored.

The owner didn't like being ignored so he had the maintenance chief pull a bulldozer across the road bright and early on a Monday, blocking all traffic to TruckCo. The TruckCo people start showing up for work and ask for the bulldozer to be moved. The owner goes outside to explain to the TruckCo folks that he told them twice they would have to start paying to use the road, and he wasn't moving the dozer.

A TruckCo person calls the police, and they ask the owner what he thinks he's doing. The owner calmly explains his grand scheme and then - get this - tells the police to get the TruckCo people to clear out. The policeman, listening in amazement, tells the owner he has two minutes to get the dozer out of the PUBLIC road. And then he asks the owner if he thinks every farmer in the midwest who happens to own land on both sides of an Interstate could put up a tollbooth. He loudly tells the owner so all the TruckCo people can hear that if he ever has to come back because the road is blocked, he's going to jail. Owner meekly goes back inside, and no one ever dared mention the incident in his presence.

So your saying the poster only owns half the road, so they can only change a toll for going in one direction?
