some questions before ordering new pc...

Im buying a whole new system, upgrading after two years with my current system...

My budget allows me to get a "AMD 64 3200+ 2.2 Ghz with Logitech z-680 speakers", or I can get a better cpu and lower quality speakers "AMD 64 3400+ 2.4 Ghz with Logitech z-5300 speakers"

I am upgrading from Logitech z-560 speakers which are 4.1 and are showing their age... bought them 2 years ago and i would like to get a 5.1 system, buying a new soundcard too with this new computer...

Which is the best choice? cpu speed or better sound?... I rarely crank up the bass with my old z-560 speakers...

Thanks alot

Well if your into OC even a little bit. It is VERY VERY easy to have your 3200 at 3400 anyways So its your choice.

Havent dont much OC, most i would do is oc the video card hehe... if you werent OCing which is the best choice JBT?

3200+ and Z-680's

It's easier to upgrade your CPU than it is your speakers and if it's for gaming, a gfx card will usually have more impact on gaming performance than a CPU.

hey thanks 🙂 yeah im going to be building a gaming rig and couldnt decide... looks like i will go 3200+ with the better speakers "z-680"

Even if your not into overclocking investing in some fast memory, a good heatsink, and a decent mobo will get you a lot more for your money. Can't go wrong with a good sound card as they seem to last longest out of system parts. CPU speed could be sacraficed for a better sound system as a good setup will last a long time. Not sure if anyone could justify upgrading some nice 7.1s for 9.1 or something.
