Some questions after installing of SP2

Hi,

just installed sp2 by a friend...

1st., after my friend installed sp2 for me... the logon screen changed.. It was Microsoft Windows XP professional... but now it only says Microsoft Windows XP(without professional or home wording)..

2nd., I couldn't create Virtual Drive in Alcohol 120%.... it says "Set device maps failed., Error ID: 3 Message: invalid device number was specified."

3rd., do u have to activate ur windows? i hate to have the "key" icon in my system tray.,

4th., Do u turn on ur firewall?

1. Yes, that is normal with SP2.
2. Try uninstalling Alcohol 120% and reinstalling and see if the problem remains.
3. Yes, you need to activate Windows if you want to use it after 30 (?) days. The process should be a matter of seconds online or minutes if you need to call Microsoft.
4. Yes, I use the Windows Firewall and have had very few problems with it.

2. ya., after reinstalling, now i can use the virtual drive., so it is ok
3. about to do that over the internet
4. seems that if the firewall is ON., many programs will be blocked.. I mean so of the functions will be filtered.

6.(new) what programs do i need to reinstall after sp2 is installed... I know my video drivers do.

7. I heard that after SP2 is installed., i gotta do / change some setting for the Bittorrent in order for it to work correctly... what is it?
 
I'm not aware of any specific programs that need to be reinstalled after SP2. I didn't have to reinstall anything. Why do you think your video drivers need to be reinstalled?
 
when i click on video(right click/properties/settings/advance)

there should be many omega icons(i am using omega drivers)., but after sp2, they were gone.
 
hmm..

8. my windows stucks (the screen right after the logon screen "windows is starting up" for 60 seconds)

it is longer than before.. and then holds around 20 seconds in the "welcome" page
just a note., when it is stucked on the "windows is starting up" page, my HD led on the case is not flashing at all.
