Some questions about my 7600GT pencil-mod results (maybe some EE guys will know the answer...)

I bought an eVGA 7600GT about 3 months ago from ZZF it was not a CO or KO version (stock clocks) and it also oc's pretty bad at stock voltage, even for a 7600GT (the core hit about 590...obviously binned) recently I started playing around with the 7600GT pencil-mod and I discovered that my card which is supposed to be at 1.3v (on the core) in 2d mode and 1.36v in 3d mode is at 1.31v in 2d (perfectly acceptable) but in 3d it only rises to 1.32v. when I raise the voltage via the pencil-mod it also doesn't have that much of a difference between 2d and 3d (2d@1.37, 3d@1.39 or when I raise it a little more 2d@1.41, 3d@1.44).
Is there some sort of problem with the voltage regulation on my board?

Also, How high can I safely raise the voltage (How much is too much?)? I have a VF900-Cu and even at 1.44v the temp barely hits 50 at load.

on air cooling i wouldn't go more than .2v over stock. HOWEVER this is the general mainly becuase pretty much every kind of processor starts to get really hot even on high end air with the speeds and heat relevant to such a bump in voltage. If the temps are ok i would say keep bumping it up until the speeds are where you want them to be. Don't go off and burn your GPU up of course but 1.4volts or so shouldnt be too bad on it. The worst that can happen is you decrease the life of the card by a quarter. Which means in three years time it may die on you. If you still have a 7600gt in three years though please turn in your official Gamer's Card at the door and exit the area.

Thats a pretty low temperature-my 6600GT IDLES at that speed. I would say stick with 1.39 and see how far it clocks. I would say 1.44v is a safe max.

.2v over stock on a normal 7600GT is 1.56v in 3d mode (stock is 1.36v in 3d mode), are you sure that's safe?
