some question regarding my motorcycle - TDM 900: 2010 model

- want to change the final drive ratio on tdm 900 from 16/43 to 18/37 - for better cruising and mileage..


do i have to take care for the swing arm?
do i need to shorten the chain

any ideas and thoughts are wellcome

I'm not a motorcycle guy, but are you just swapping out the sprockets?
If so, you will have to shorten the chain. My rough estimation is that you would take out 1 full link.
