Some question concerning my dvd burner.

I recently purchased a pretty cheap price samsung dvd-rw burner from newegg and I connect it with my older liteon burner in the same ide channel thinking of using one to play dvd and samsung one to burn dvd. I made both jumper into cable select. However, a serious problem come up sometime after I watch dvd movie on my liteon drive, both dvd drive will fai to function and I can't read any dvd or burn any dvd until I reboot the computer. This never happen before until I install the samsung drive and I can't figure out what wrong. Any help would be appreciated
