some question about win7

hi, i want to ask some question:
1. is it safe to dual boot xp and 7? and is it stable?
2. will my hd 4670 support aero in win7?
3. which one is better, upgrade my xp to win7 or get a clean install?

1. It OK but there are better solutions.

2. Yes (provided it is a version of Win & that supports Aero).

3. There is No in-place upgrade from XP to Win 7.

Back up Win XP to another HD.

Install Win 7 on top of it so it will accept the upgrade version.

Once it starts it will wipe out XP and do a clean install of Win 7.

Application have to be reinstalled from the original CDs to Win 7.

Data can be copy from the XP backup that you did before.

3. clean install is always better unless you have a lot of stuff in many places, win7 might be able to keep some programs installed during an upgrade, but could create a huge troubleshooting can o worms.

well, i just don't want to lose some application that i'm not sure that it will run in 7. and will symantec client security run on 7?

Then get Win 7 Ultimate/Enterprise/Pro. with VT capable CPU.

Download the free XP Mode and use it.

i know that xp mode. but my comp won't run that because my cpu is only an Intel Pentium Dual Core @ 2.00 ghz. i already check with intel's program and it said that my comp. doesn't support vt.

If your processor doesn't support VT/AMD-V, you can use VMware Player instead.
