For 9 use the slider until the transparent blocks cross over a colored block. That is the color you need to color the transparent block. The color palette is hidden behind the bar that seperates the crossword from the slider. Just click and drag it to the right.

i can't get #8.. i'm guessing i'm doing it correctly.. rotate the blocks, cut the logs to fit the spaces between the blocks, but every time i drag a log to put inbetween the blocks and click it to set it down, it just disappears and i have to cut another one.. freakin lame.. i got the rest though...

I did the same thing... until I noticed that each time I was clicking to set it down, I was clicking on the red bar. Clicking on the red bar eliminates it.

Don't click the little red spot in the middle. That is what makes them disappear.

Doh.. so close.. 1:08:48. Puzzle 9 pissed me off for the longest time because i couldn't find the color palette. That and that stupid log thing where I kept clicking the red portion.
