On desktop machines, Windows 11 has been running without any issues. Since upgrading 22H2 last week, I've seen some strange permission difficulties, although not across the board. I utilise Photomatix Pro 6 to edit RAW files. When it tries to save the modified file, I get the error message Unauthorized alterations banned (after converting from RAW to JPG). power over the banned folder. The same thing happens when I try to download and save a photo from Facebook. I don't experience the same issue with Canon Digital Photo Professional 4. Before the 22H2 release, I had no issues running these programmes or saving files. Can anyone help?

Screenshot of the error would be helpful.

One thing you could try is launch the affected software with admin rights by right clicking and choosing Run as Administrator.

Please check if "Controlled folder Access" is enabled!
It's a piece of crap and wont allow Apps outside "secure locations" save files inside your Profiles document folders.

To be avoided!
