I don't atm... I had a 2007 Acura TL, but the lease ran out in May of this year.

I've been looking at wranglers, wrx's, and pickups... but tbh, I think the weather itself will dictate when I buy another car. I've lived in Maryland/Virginia for the last 25years (since i was 5)... and just about every 4 years we have a bad winter (and inbetween they have been mediocre). So expect a weak winter this year...

That coupled w/ the fact my work is < 5miles from where I live... i'm not too concerened atm.
Even if you don't get a hard winter, the salt on the road is enough to make it worth getting a winter driver.

If you drive that nice of a car on the roads with salt on them, you should be smacked.

I guess I have a different philosophy.... cars are meant to be driven

Sure, but driving it in the salt will ruin it. There's a difference between driving it and ruining it.

I have other problems if the car gets "ruined" if I drive it in a Virginia winter. To be honest I don't care... car is under warranty until 2014 (bought the extended GMPP warranty) ... So I'll make GM fix it

The only reason I would buy a beater is if it impeded me from getting to work, or more importantly a capitals game... I'm not worried about a little salt or a little snow. I'm worried about a lot of snow, like the winter we just had (which as I said, happens every 4 years)

One of the main reasons I bought the z06 was because, it can truly be daily driven. I'm not interested in a garage queenish car. I fully expect to drive 15k miles a year if not more, in rain, snow and whatever else mother nature decides to bring (I do wash it once a week though to keep it sparkling at all times!)

I think my attitude about cars is a bit different then others 😛

Being that Z06 is aluminum, fiber glass, carbon fiber, and plastic, I wouldn't worry heavily about salt as long as you keep it washed off. I had 10 year old trucks in NE Ohio that did fine in salt and would suspect they had lower quality paint.
