Estrella Mountain Regional Park, pictures taken along Rainbow Valley, Toothaker, and Gadsden trails. I apologize for the grainy pictures of the condors. Only had my Nexus on me, and if I got close enough to get a a decent shot, they'd fly away. Very hard to get anything remotely decent on a zoom with a smart phone. The pictures I was able to get don't really do them justice. They're probably ~2ft tall when perched vertically, and they must nest along that trail too. There's always dozens congregating around that 100yd segment of the Gadsden trail.

This run also hit 90 before I finished, and it's going to got hotter. 🙂

Respect the desert . . . or get up close and chummy with the condors.

Nice pictures Bat, I don't know how much experience you have venturing into the desert, but whenever I think about heading out there I think of Evan Tanner's death, so stay safe brother..

I love that park! I never remember the names of the trails I go on; I just wander around and eventually find my way back....

A couple weeks ago my friend visiting from out of state and I hiked up a big hill at South Mountain. No trails, just big rocks. Got up to 105 by the time we were done and he just about had a case of heatstroke. In retrospect, we were lucky no rattlers showed up 😀

Jesus, glad you can smile about it, would you do it again?
