All pics are taken on a Canon G5 with a Hoya UV filter on. The only post-proc is unsharp mask on default and resize 50%.

Lotus 1 and Lotus 2, in the pool outside the Cairo Museum. These flowers are supposedly hallucinogens ;)

A couple of smaller pyramids, The Great Pyramid, same shot of the two small pyramids and again, same shot. All in Giza.

The Mediterranean coast and some dude fishing, taken from the balcony of my hotel room in Alexandria.

I thought this pic was amusing - on the streets on Alexandria.

Fishing boats and a mosque, also in Alexandria.

A sailing boat ("Felluca") in the Nile, Luxor.

My Nubian Felluca captain cruising in the Nile, Aswan. I liked this shot of a few fellucas on the nile

Entrance of the Luxor Temple. This road leads right to the Karnak Temple about 3km away, and the rows of sphinxes stretches *all* the way along the road.. The Egyptians has recently uncovered more of these buried sphinxes.

A huge pillar inside the Karnak Temple (I think).

Valley of the Kings 1, Valley of the Kings 2. It was a hot day.

The Red Sea, outside Hurghada on the way to snorkelling.

Can we say oops?. Hurghada.

Sunrise on the summit of Mt. Sinai, more rocky faces of Mt. Sinai, another sunrise shot. The winds up here completely pwned me to say the least. I was freezing my ass off  The hike up here at 2am under star light was awesome though :)

Camel!!

Some really old random church or whatever that structure is, on the descent on Mt. Sinai.

St Catherine's Church, view from above. This must be one of the oldest functioning church in the world.

Asilah (Dahab) on the Red Sea coast.. These are bedouin huts. Boat.. The Red Sea is beautiful!

Right behind the sea, mountains in the backdrop of more bedouin huts

Teh camel is sleeping. I can't feel my balls after a 2 hour on one of these pimp rides.

This is in Fishawy's in Islamic Cairo. It's a hookah/coffee bar that has been open 24/7 for the past 200 years :Q I thought that was pretty incredible.
Inside
An old ass lantern

Bellydancing in Cairo Sheraton. Her name is Soraya and she's actually a Brazillian. Sorry for the noise from high ISO.. this is when I'd really appreciate having an SLR.
Soraya 1
Soraya 2

Al-Azhar mosque. Arguably the oldest university in the world. That's what I read anyway.

Awesome pics but I really love this one. Makes me wish I was an archaeologist..studying ancient temples..discovering artifacts..etc. ..cue the Indiana Jones theme..or Tomb Raider if you prefer.

I gotta visit Egypt one day in the future.

Those are awesome shots, have always wanted to go there, hopefully someday, I will.

I think I read some pyramids on the outside of them, originally had marble on them???

Very cool, thanks for sharing. :)

I think it was limestone which gave the pyramids a nice shine.

Yeah, I think that was it. Limestone being nice and white would shine real well in the sun.
Indicative to the area? I wonder.
